CEDAR BAY CHERRY

Also know as: Eugenia Reinwardtiana

A small productive plant, besides the edible fruit, the plant itself being grow as ornamental plant because of its beautiful characteristic.

Rounded, bulbous shape and a size of approx. 1 inch in diameter. Exterior skin is smooth and shiny exhibiting a bright orange-red hue.

Soft flesh is juicy and surrounds a cherry-like pit has pleasant sweet flavour with cheery and grape tasting notes. Its also provide antioxidants.

It is consider tropical cherry and that being said, if you are wondering, YES and BIG YES, they grow well in our Malaysia’s climate.

It can be consumed FRESH (when riped), can be pitted and cooked down to make jam, chutney and pie filling. Cooked and pureed down they can be made into a sauce and served atop desserts or alongside meats. Pitted and halved fruits can be added to fruit tarts, muffins and cakes, or as a topping for ice-cream, yogurt and salad. Not only that, it can be pressed to make delicious juice, smoothies, cocktails and frozen desserts.

The plant we are selling is approximately 1-2 feet tall only, BOLEH TANAM DALAM PASU - it can grow up to 4 feet tall but its is known to be a slow grower shrub plant). 

This plant start producing fruit as early as it reaches 12 inches in height.
